The tree is up!

Well hello! I know it's been a while.

Things are going well, Nolan and I had a nice first Thanksgiving as married folks and now the tree is up! Yay!

I love the holidays and I love decorating for them! I have a TON more ornaments that I didn't put on the tree because last year when they were all on there it was way too cluttered. Plus, like I told Nolan I saved some spots, just in case I fall in love with some new ones this year!

Do you decorate for the holidays?

Well hello there!

It's been a while, I know, I know.

Now that the wedding is over and Nolan and I are back from our honeymoon, life has returned to some semblance of normalcy and I plan on updating this blog regularly. I will finish my wedding recaps over on my other blog, but my day to day life stuff will be on here!

I sure hope you'll stick around for it!

San Francisco June 2010

I was in San Francisco this past week for work. I was luck enough to have my evenings free and visited quite a few of San Francisco's offerings. When I arrived on Sunday I took the Muni to Golden Gate Park and walked around for a little while and then walked down Haight Street. Very cool (but no pics - sorry!).

I hit up Chinatown on Monday evening:

On Wednesday I went to the Golden Gate Bridge, briefly stopped in Fisherman's Wharf, and rode a cable car back to Union Square.

I'd been a San Francisco a few times in the past, but had never went to the Golden Gate bridge. I absolutely LOVED it. Such an amazing place (and really windy!). Definitely on your "must-do" list should you ever visit the city.

It probably goes without saying that I hit up a lot of shops around Union Square (but I was super good and most just window shopped!). On one of my phone calls to Nolan I told him that I was staying right next to what had to be one of the biggest shopping malls in the world! LOL.

All in all it was a great trip. :)

Bonita 5000

I ran the Bonita 5000 on Saturday. It was a fun race, I haven't "done" a 5k in a long time (I run 3+ miles a LOT, just not for an actual race). I was hoping to come in under 30 minutes so I'm a bit disappointed with my 30:30 time, but it's a jumping of point, right??

About halfway through the race another gal and I were sort of running together, she'd pass me, then I'd pass her, etc, etc and towards the very end I was determined to beat her so I sprinted past her at the finish line and beat her by a mere second! She actually come up to me at the end and thanked me for being motivating and I thanked her for the same, that was pretty cool.

After the 5k there was a 1k fun run for the kids that the boys ran in. They were both a bit nervous, but excited too. I was rather surprised that when it started Sebastian TOOK OFF. I have never seen that boy run so fast! Ethan is usually my quick one, so it was fun to see Sebastian doing so well.

Probably the best "race" photo of me ever taken!

Here are the boys and I before my race started, Ethan is holding up his hand because he hurt it (climbing a fence) before the race started.

I LOVE this picture of Ethan!

Kindergarten Graduation!

Today my son, Sebastian, graduated kindergarten. I remember when he was a teeny tiny four pound baby (he was born seven weeks early) and here he is, almost a first grader. The time just goes by too fast.

I love you little boy!

Half Marathon Personal Record!

I ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Half Marathon yesterday and finished with a new personal record! I shaved about two minutes off my time and finished at 2:34:44. It's not a *great* time, but I'm still proud of it.

I'm running the Disneyland Half in September and am really hoping that I can get my time closer to 2:30.

Here's a pic of me and BM Theresa the morning of the race (before the race obviously, I was a hot, sweaty mess after!).

What I did for my birthday

Ok - so this post is about two weeks late - sorry!

At first I didn't really think anything was going to happen for my birthday. Nolan took me out the night before and bought me the sunglasses I'd been eyeing for a while. On the day of my actual b-day he had called me saying he'd gotten an awesome pair of tickets that that nights Padres game through his company. We scrambled and were thankfully able to find a babysitter at the very last second (HUGE thanks to our friend Henry!!).

We were late to the game, but still had a really great time! Here are some pics from the night.
